Starting off this year's elementary staff spotlight is Kelly Ross. In his 4th grade class, Kelly has focused on math and science/social studies. Kelly's classroom is supportive of the students he serves and is welcoming to all. Kelly also is an active community member, working as a coach for youth sports throughout the year. He also utilizes that coaching mentality to bring his students together as a team to achieve their goals. We're lucky to have your dedication with us, Mr. Ross. Thank you!

We are looking for support staff for the 2024-2025 school year if you are interested please read below and go to edjobsnw.org and apply for the below category. The Support Staff Substitute will be responsible for providing support to various departments within the Mossyrock School District. This is a substitute position, and the successful candidate will be required to work on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities: - Assist with custodial duties such as cleaning classrooms, restrooms, and common areas - Provide support to the transportation department by driving school buses or assisting with Van routes. - Assist with food service duties such as preparing meals, serving food, and cleaning up after meals - Other duties as assigned by the district administration Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Ability to work on an as-needed basis - Flexibility to work in various departments within the district - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Valid driver's license (if applying for transportation department support) CDL for busses - Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

We Need Your Help! Our school is participating in a federal program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). This program allows all children in our school to eat at no charge. In order to continue to offer this we must collect the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit Application (CNEEB). This form helps us collect household information for all students attending CEP schools. The CNEEB captures information and ensures the district/school receives state funding for education programs. Without this information, Mossyrock school district could lose important state funding for educational programs that our students are entitled to. We were pleased to be able to have a summer Migrant program for our students this summer. Students were very eager to come back each and everyday! Hello Vikings The 2024-2025 OPEN HOUSE will be held on August 28th from 4-6 PM.

Earlene Stone is in our elementary spotlight. She is a veteran Viking with a helping heart. She has helped everywhere and anywhere needed; being in the office, supervising recesses and lunches, and supporting her ELL students. Earlene is a trustworthy educator who is always willing to help and support others. We would not have made it through this year without people like Earlene to help us all weather the difficulties through which we’ve persevered. Thank you, Earlene. We appreciate you!

Judy Schwartz is our elementary spotlight. Judy is a fantastic math services paraeducator in a special education classroom and is praised by her colleagues. She works with varying levels of students in the elementary school and is involved in supervision, special services, and classroom support. She builds meaningful relationships with her students to better support their educational experience. Thank you for all of your hard work this year, Judy! We appreciate you!

Maudie Lamotte is in the elementary spotlight. Maudie is a great educator that serves varying levels of students in the elementary school. She does supervision, special services, and classroom support all while building meaningful connections with staff and students. Maudie has a great sense of humor and works well with her team. Thanks for a great year Maudie! We appreciate you!

35 Mossyrock school district students, grades 2 to 12 visited Wolf Haven on June 6th for the first ever all ELL student field trip. Students were able to see Grey wolves, Mexican wolves, Red wolves and coyotes up close at this sanctuary. We learned the stories of how each wolf ended up at the sanctuary, information about engaged wolves and efforts to bring them back to the wild, and the differences between coyotes and wolves. Students were able to touch animal skulls and molds of paw prints of different animals. We also walked through an endangered prairie and visited a 400 year old tree. It was a wonderful experience for all.

Families just a reminder that June 13th is a full day and the LAST DAY of SCHOOL is June 14th an 11:30 AM DISMISSAL.

Last week's staff spotlight was Jady Stott. Jady is a friendly, determined educator who cares deeply for the people around her. She keeps a creative learning space, and utilizes out-of-the-box approaches to successfully support students. Jady is actively involved in school activities including student leadership, is the teacher union co-president, and is a helpful mentor to her teacher partner. If you’ve ever had a problem, Jady has been there to offer her heart to you. We are lucky to have you Jady! Thank you!
