Dear Families, We are writing to inform you that a Mossyrock School District student was recently involved in a traffic accident. We have implemented protocols to respond and help our students and their families during this time. Students and staff will react differently to circumstances of this nature, so it will be important to have support available to assist students in need. We will have extra counseling support available in the school to help students as they express their feelings related to this issue. If you feel your child needs special assistance or is having difficulty coping with the situation, please do not hesitate to call.  We have included a few places (for your reference) to help you to support your child if needed. While it is important to deal with any disbelief, anxiety, and fearful reactions, we believe it is essential to maintain a normal routine as much as possible at this time regarding school activities. Hey Viking Families! From work, to home, to school, our phones are a key tool to navigate and communicate throughout the day. The custom-built Vikings app makes it easy for your families to stay up to date with district news and events. Now, Vikings is making it easier for families to stay in touch with teachers and class information from that same app. Using the Vikings app families can easily switch from district and school information to Rooms, where they can see their student’s classes and engage directly with teachers. Rooms can be accessed via the web and from our district app, which is available for free and can be used from both Apple and Android phones. Reminder to all parents of Little Vikings basketball players, the first week of basketball is this coming Saturday, January 4th at 9am in the high school gym.

Facility Use Procedures Our district is implementing a new procedure to request using Mossyrock School District's facilities. Please follow these steps for all requests. 1. All facility use forms will start with pick up from the HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE, no matter what space is being requested. 2. We will confirm that the dates and times requested are available. If not, we will contact the requestor and let them know. 3. There will be a two-week turnaround time for approval. APPROVAL IS NOT IMMEDIATE NOR IS IT GUARANTEED WITH FORM SUBMITTAL. 4. The requestor will be contacted for deposit and key pick-up once the request is approved. 5. Facilities requests are ONLY VALID for 90 days. At that time, they will need to be requested again if they want to continue the usage.

Lunch is Served ( Breakfast too!) We are happy to announce that the Kitchen will be serving Breakfast and Lunch again when we return on Jan. 6th.

We will be hosting our annual Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 8th at 9:00am in the high school gym. All Veterans are invited and there will be cake and coffee served after in the gym foyer.

This is a reminder that Mossyrock Schools will conduct an emergency evacuation drill tomorrow Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Thank you.

Mossyrock PTO put out the call for students to create a Candy Monster and 6th graders from Mrs. Cuddie's class answered the call! The PTO needed the Candy Monster to collect donations of candy for their Trunk or Treat event held later on this month. Sariah Bermudez-Montana drew the design of the monster and with help from friends they were able construct this amazing creation.

Our band needs help! Please check your closets for any used instruments that are in working condition and you are willing to donate!

Mossyrock Schools will conduct an evacuation drill on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The drill will include both the elementary and junior/senior high schools. It will proactively provide practice for students and staff in preparation for any emergency. Thank you.

Tomorrow, Monday, October 14th is a two-hour delayed start for students.

The MHS varsity-only volleyball game with Winlock was rescheduled for Friday, Oct 11, at 3:30 at Mossyrock. The MHS football home game on Friday will be broadcast on the radio. However, it will not be on NFHS. Faulty NFHS equipment is interfering with the game clock. The district is working with NFHS to remedy this problem.

Good afternoon Mossyrock Families, Due to issues with the delivery, the fishing tank is being delayed by one day, so the days that elementary students will be fishing will be Thursday, October 10th, and Friday, October 11th. Any volunteers interested in participating please call the elementary office at 360-983-3184. Thank you and have a good day.

Hey Mossyrock Families! We wanted to let you know that next Wednesday October 9th and Thursday October 10th we will be lucky enough to have the fishing tank back for elementary students to catch fish. We will also have some high school students to help support the tank and will be cleaning fish for our kiddos to take home. We loved our community volunteers supporting us last year, and we welcome all volunteers to contact the elementary office to sign up to help our kids catch some fish!
