RESOLUTION NO. 25-26-29
A Resolution pertaining to Approval of Patriotism at Graduation by the Board of Directors
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Mossyrock School District No. 206 recognize the laws of Washington State stated in the Revised Code of Washington.
WHEREAS, the Board duly recognizes RCW 28A.405.030, which states that it is the duty of all teachers to teach morality and patriotism; and
WHEREAS, the ceremony of graduation is a highly regarded community event; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has the legal authority to grant to the Superintendent and/or Board Chair the ability to grant approval for appropriate acts of patriotism during school related community events;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of Mossyrock School District No. 206 authorizes the Superintendent to instruct staff to incorporate the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem during annual graduation ceremonies; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Directors requires a review of the graduation program by at least the Board Chair and/or Vice Chair prior to such approval by the Superintendent to ensure these acts of patriotism are included.
