Greetings Mossyrock Community,
With the acceptance of a new position outside of our district by our current Superintendent, Dr. Mark Chandler, the Board of Directors has begun the process of identifying a highly qualified replacement.
This is a historic opportunity for our community to participate in the evaluation and selection of our next district superintendent. Our first community meeting was held on Tuesday, May 5th, during a publicly announced and scheduled workshop. District leaders attended and shared valuable ideas and expectations for this important process.
Based on the feedback received, we have compiled initial qualifications that we believe are essential for prospective candidates:
Personal Traits
Strong communication skills, both personal and organizational β’ High level of maturity, honesty, integrity, and sound decision-making under all conditions
Passionate adaptability in addressing organizational challenges, building relationships, conducting stakeholder outreach, and engaging the community
Visionary leadership with foresight and the ability to address both current and future challenges
Professional Skills and Record
Strong systems competency
Experience working with small rural schools in Washington state β’ Proven ability to identify, allocate, and evaluate resources effectively and efficiently
Demonstrated record of collaboration and relationship-building with all stakeholders
Successful track record in leading grant-writing efforts
We will be scheduling additional opportunities for students, parents, citizens, and local government officials to provide input and ideas regarding this important process. Dates and times for these consultation workshops will be announced through district communications and other public channels. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
The Board of Directors remains committed to creating the best possible learning environment to ensure our students have the opportunities to excel academically, athletically, and in community engagement.
