HI-CAP students recently participated in a dynamic and engaging field trip that brought learning to life through hands-on experiences in art, science, and creativity. The trip gave students the opportunity to explore new environments, work collaboratively, and make meaningful connections between their interests, skills, and future career possibilities.

The first stop was the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. While there, students viewed impressive glass art installations and learned about the artistic process behind large-scale glass pieces. Discussions focused on how creativity, precision, and technical skill come together in professional art spaces. Students also learned about a variety of careers connected to the museum, including artists, designers, technicians, and support staff who help bring exhibits to life.

The group then traveled to the Hands On Children's Museum, where students were encouraged to explore, experiment, and create. Through interactive stations such as the popular β€œBuild a Bug” activity, students used imagination, problem-solving, and teamwork to design unique creations. These hands-on activities allowed students to practice fine motor skills, follow instructions, and think critically while having fun in a collaborative environment.

This field trip directly supported HI-CAP goals by helping students explore career pathways, build confidence, and discover personal interests in a real-world setting. Experiences like these help students see how classroom learning connects to future opportunities while reinforcing important skills such as communication, creativity, and collaboration.

Thank you to the staff, chaperones, and community partners who helped make this memorable learning experience possible for our students.ECAPECAPECAPECAPECAPECAPECAPECAPECAPECAPECAPECAPECAPECAP
