Mossyrock High School Athletics Update

Sports are back! We are excited to get your athletes back on the field and court in a safe manner. We know that you are excited to see them competing as well. With that in mind, there are some new guidelines that we must follow, in order to have spectators at our games. Rules that have been put forth by the Governor's office and the Department of Health, limit the number of people we are allowed to have in our facility. We are allowed to have no more than 200 people in our facilities. This number includes all players, coaches, officials, etc. So the number of spectators we have may be significantly less than that. In addition, we must accommodate for proper distancing between household groups After going through the bleachers and checking capacity, it looks as though we may be limited to approximately 100 spectators for indoor events. Spectator number for outdoor events will fluctuate, based on how many athletes, coaches, etc. are participating.

We are going to start out the season by giving each participant an equal number of tickets to give to their family/friends. The number given to each participant may vary from sport to sport or even from game to game. We are also encouraging students who don't use all their tickets, to give them to other participants or members of our community who would like to attend the events. My goal is to get as many people in our facility as we can while still following all of the protocols.

As you can imagine, there will be some different processes for fans who are able to attend games. First, tickets will go out to people a day or two prior to the contest. Only those with a ticket will be allowed into the game. In addition, each ticket will have a COVID attestation form on the back for you to sign. We will also be having a sign-in sheet and taking temperatures at the door. Masks will be required at all times in our facilities. We will also be enforcing 6 foot distancing between households in stands. We will give one warning to those who do not comply. If that warning is not heeded, you will be asked to leave the facility. I hope that we can all follow these rules so we can continue to have our athletes compete.

Also, our parents/fans are only allowed to attend home events. The local leagues are only allowing home fans at each event to help keep an accurate count of fans, so that we do not have issues of exceeding the 200 person limit. Our goal is to broadcast each home and away event on Facebook live through the "Mossyrock Junior/Senior High School Athletics" page or through Pixellot cameras (not all districts have these in their gyms or football fields yet). You can get access to the events being streamed through the Pixellot cameras, by going to nfhsnetwork.com and purchasing a subscription.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call or email me. I want to make the best of this difficult situation, and I think that we can do that by working together.
